Here at Moons Edge we strive to create a perfect environment for wolf and werewolf lovers alike. Our realm is different than others as we have centered our wolves in a different more original fashion. No longer tailoring to bonded mates, mind-linking, or specified pack names like the blue star pack. We are semi-literate, so we do ask that you write about a paragraph or 5 total sentences. We hope that you enjoy our active forum and to keep in mind that in order for this to be an active forum that you need to be as equally active as the members in here. Happy writing! - Elle

She lay there in her bed staring up at the ceiling. She really didn't feel like getting up. Not that she really had to. The sun hadn't even really even began to make an appearance yet. She shut her eyes sighing in thought. Just the day before she had gone with Susan to the marketplace. Things were pretty much the same only this time she had met her own kind. And even though they held smiles on their faces as they talked she couldn't help feeling like she should've gotten away and gone far away. Her body turned in the bed restlessly. She needed to go for a run to calm her nerves. Not that she was ever just completely calm. Throwing back her blanket she climbed out of bed and got dressed before going downstairs, through another short hall and doorway. It was a good thing that she could even stay here. Had it not been for Susan's kind heart, she'd still be wandering the streets.
Takenya walked through an aisle to the back of the shop where there was a back door and headed out onto the sidewalk. By the time she got back, the shop would be open with Susan at the counter checking people out. Putting an earbud in for her music to her phone she moved into the rhythm of an easy jog, being careful to also pay attention to her surroundings. The air was much cooler in the mornings and while others complained, she rather enjoyed it. Fall brought out colors of the world only once a year after all. Somehow her mind drifted back to when she was younger. She remembered jumping into a pile of leaves as her father and mother raked them up. It gave them both a nice chuckle and she was soon joined by them too. But those days were long gone now. Her jog had turned into a walk in the midst of her thoughts.
With a quiet breath out she stopped at a stop sign, looking both ways before crossing. Why had her mother left? she wondered. Was it because of Takenya that she left and didn't come back? Getting away from the town buildings she finally stopped looking up at the brightening yet cloudy sky. Would probably rain later if not sooner. Pulling her hood that had been covering her head, she looked back in the direction of the way she had come. So many times she had thought of just up and leaving. But she liked the area. She felt safe though obviously safer when she was at the shop. A brisk wind blew toward her and she glanced back down the opposite direction. The caged wolf in her wanted to run. Her head shook before she reluctantly turned away heading back to the shop.
And after stopping to get two cups of coffee and donuts, she walked through the front door of the shop that was just as she had assumed now open. "Brought some coffee and donuts," she said walking over to the counter where Susan was who greeted her warmly. The two conversed lightly about things before an electrician came in. And Susan left Takenya at the counter to help anybody else that came into the shop. Sitting down on a stool, she leaned against a shelf behind the counter reaching for one of her favorite books and started to read, glancing up here and then to greet anybody that came in.
Riley was glad that the Alpha talked about the Demi-Wolves. She had heard of them before, but wasn't too sure about the entire details of them like he had mentioned. Riley thought it would be best to get away from the house and asked if she could go to the local book shop. She needed a break and wanted to delve into her books for search of some type of theory or werewolf story that talked about a demi-wolf.
Reaching the bookshop she lifted her hand to walk in and when she did she was hit with this really odd smell and furrowed her eyebrows slightly before coming to rest her eyes on a girl. She didn't want to frighten the girl so she smiled in greeting and took a sharp right to a book shelf and started to mingle her way through some books. As she thumbed the books mindlessly, she thought that this must be the girl. A sigh of silent relief at finding out where she was located made her settle down inside. However, the smell still bothered her a bit, it was unnatural she knew that for a person with were blood to not be able to shift. She wanted to know why, but kept thumbing through the books and lost in thought. Riley then decided it best that she go talk to the girl and maybe find a common ground.
Fixing her shoulder strap bag she made her way over to the girl at the counter. She was young and had beautiful hair, but again the smell got stronger and it threw her off. It wasn't a disgusting smell to say the least, but it was a smell that more or less gave you the prickly skin and knotted stomach inside and out. It was of forest and of sweaty human mix. "Excuse me," she politely said to the girl to get her attention, "I apologize if I'm interrupting, but do you by any chance have books on the... paranormal?" Riley had to pause before saying werewolf, she didn't want to frighten the girl, but was glad her mind could come up with paranormal so fast. Grinning, "And no twilight series please or any fiction novels" she chuckled at the thought of the Stephanie Meyer throwback to every human girl fantasy. Knowing full well that wolves didn't get that ridiculously big, nor did they shift so easily and definitely didn't get a creepy thing such as imprinting.
She lifted her head slightly as someone entered the shop, "Good morning, welcome to the shop" she said not really getting a good look at the person as she was busy in her own book. A slight yawn released from her mouth as she reached for her coffee cup and took a sip from it. At first, she really wasn't one to drink coffee but after Susan took her in and having to wake up sometimes early like today. She needed the extra little boost of energy. After reading a few more pages from her book, she closed it as her cell phone sounded off with a little jingle. Wasn't anybody except Julian or one of his friends. She looked down at the message that was indeed from him. He asked if she wanted to meet him after he was finished with work later that afternoon.
To which she sometimes replied with having to help Susan with things. But he always shot back a food emoji. She let a sigh go before saying that she'd meet him. Her attention was drawn back up from the phone as a female's voice reached her. Eyes lifted as she asked about books on the paranormal and she gave a slight smirk, eyes landing on the woman that spoke and she gave a slight pause before shaking her head clear. "Ah...yes ma'am. I can show you." she answered back her tone quiet but still able to be heard. She waved her hand for the woman to follow, leading her to some books to the left of the counter maybe three strides away. Lifting an arm to scratch the back of her neck after she indicated the area suddenly feeling restless as she shifted on her feet. "Here you go. Everything from Dragons, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons and... Werewolves...ect. It's all here. Umm...anything...if you have any other questions...I'd be happy to answer." she said somewhat avoiding to look directly at the woman. Something didn't sit right with her. Or maybe she was just being paranoid again. Could never tell with Takenya.
