"Hello Susie, we are back!" Roderick yelled out to the quiet house as he walked in first. He could smell Riley and Adrian's faint scent, and assumed the two were still out on patrol. He knew Riley hated patrol, but always figured it was good for the young pup to get out every so often. She is always digging her nose into those books of hers. 'Welcome back family, the two took a late patrol, so they will be back soon.' Susanna spoke as she walked through the foyer, and into the entryway with her hands firmly on her hips. Roderick could swear the woman always knew what he was thinking and laughed at her as she came rose an eyebrow and tilted her head past the open door to look at the truck being shut up so soon with supplies being dropped off in the barn. 'I assume the market was booming today?' she inquiried with a smile, noticing Erin pulling the truck over to the barn.
Roderick nodded his head and moved towards his office space, motioning for Susanna his Beta to follow him. Once the door was shut behind him, he strode over to the wall of books. "Have you ever heard of or do you remember my mate Valerie the demi-wolf?" he asked glancing out of the corner of his eye at his beta re-organizing his desk to perfection. She was always looking after him he thought fondly. 'I recall her, yes.' she mentioned softly. "There is another demi-wolf in town, and I'm trying to find some kind of diction to be able to discuss this with the pack. I don't want them attacking her based on their instincts..." He trailed off finding a book skimming through it and putting it back still searching the massive wall of books.
'Its a she? Does she know what she is? Does she-' Susanna started, but was cut off by Roderick's pleased noise at finding the book. "Here it is!" he said, eyes scanning and a smile forming at the corner of his mouth. There wasn't much on demi-wolves as far as lycan literature came too. However, Roderick knew this book would help explain the demi-wolf's physical and emotional presence in this world. "We do not know much about her, but she is a young pup and probably scared to be around one of our kind." Roderick shut the book on his desk and looked into Susanna's eyes, she managed to move the direction of her eyesight to right behind him. Respecting his position as alpha, and yet still dominant as ever as his beta. 'So what do you plan on doing with this girl?' Susanna asked him.
Roderick's eyes focused on her nose and thoughts whirled his mind, "I don't know yet, but one thing is for sure, I want my pack to protect her and to understand she can mean no harm. She is a rare being, so if we can get her to pack territory-" Susanna tried interrupting with a no, but Roderick put his hand up, eyes flickering with gold, "I know it sounds crazy, but I'd like Riley to examine her, and find out more as to why she can't shift. I want her to feel safe in this pack and to come to us if need be." After a short pause, Rodericks could feel his wolf and the anger build, "Besides, I don't want the other packs finding her, she could be killed if another pack finds her"
Oliver hopped out of the truck and immediately heard the sound of Susanna's voice, she was such a sweet motherly figure that he smiled at the sound. Helping unpack the rest of the vegetables out of the truck and into the barn, he could distinctly hear the voice of Susanna confirming that his brother was indeed still out on a patrol. He couldn't imagine why as he rolled his eyes and scoffed. His brother really did like to stall and play around. He imagined his brother messing with poor Riley right about now, and stalling the run just to play around. Huffing and smiling, he glanced over at Delphi, wondering what was going through her mind. He too had never seen or smelt something like that girl before either. She didn't say anything after Roderick talked with her, and still didn't know if she knew what he told her. His curiosity was itching at his body. Oliver had to know! For now, he helped unload and went with Erin to go check on the crops and mow the yard.

Despite being one of the few who tend to wake up around the earlier times, Nathan found himself to not doing anything too important around the pack house and territory. Most of the others had planned on going to the market, selling some crops they had grown, and found himself helping to load up the truck on that part of the morning. He wasn't too desperate to attend, Nathan was fine around the humans but he wasn't that bothered if he stayed back in the territory or if they needed him at the market. Riley and Aiden had gone out on patrol, though Nathan did offer to look after Aiden instead but it was clear Aiden was preferred to be outside on patrol than in the house. He could bet that Riley would be in no happy mood when she gets back. Nathan never really minded pup sitting that much, sure there were times he could sit there and think that he could be doing much more interesting things but at the same time he did enjoy some aspects of it. He supposed that there was something nice watching the people you know grow around you, also the fact you could be a little childish around pups without having to worry about a reputation.
In the meantime, Nathan had opted to tidy the house which wasn't too hard of a job considering that this time nobody really left in enough of a rush to leave a trail of chaotic mess in their wake. He had checked the fridge to see if there was anything, "Oh". There really wasn't much. A few random bits of food were abandoned on shelves but nothing anyone would ever fancy eating straight away. Eventually deciding to make a few sandwiches to put on a plate and in the fridge, eating one himself, he figured people could just grab one and go if they ever needed to. Finally putting the washing out to dry, surely by now they'd be getting back any minute-
A loud, familiar voice boomed from the direction of the front of the house. Guess they're back. Looking over his shoulder he could see the truck being pulled over to the barn and Roderick had no doubt already stepped into the house, Nathan could hear him from here. Running from the washing line, he quickly placed the basket back into the house also noticing Roderick and Susanna head into his office. Not think much of it, his attention was driven back to the barn, maybe he should go and help them.
Helping carry some of the other goods into the barn and placing it into a storage area, he felt a weird vibe around everyone. Almost like they were busy trying to figure out something instead of talking so openly like it was a normal day on the farmer's market. Had something happened? Roderick seemed fine earlier, though he did go into the office with Susanna. Not really wanting to make his way back into the house at the moment, Nathan hung around the barn for a bit to help organise everything they just brought in. Leaving it some time for everyone to do their own thing, he finally wanted to know himself. Walking over to where Oliver and Erin had gone he looked to find Oliver, "What happened at the market today?" He asked in a lighter tone as if to make conversation.
Oliver stopped helping take out lawn supplies to look over at the voice of Nathan asking what happened in the market. Nathan was more of an older brother to the twins, he took care of them and made sure they didn't get into too much trouble. Oliver admired him, he was so nice and warm that it made Oliver's jitters disappear when he approached. Thinking back to the female at the market made him stiffen visibly. A large gulp and he glanced at the other two before leaning in with the leaf rake in between his hands. "There was this female at the market, and she didn't smell like a wolf, but she didn't smell human either. She was weird and gave us all a strange vibe." He glanced to Delphi before continuing, "Delphi talked to Roderick, but she won't tell us what that girl was. Either way though she brought me to the point of shifting. It felt so weird. Do you know what she might be?" Oliver looked helplessly into Nathan's eyes, hoping with all his might that the Omega who spent most his time in the house would know what she was.

Nathan failed to take his eyes off of Oliver to watch for any kind of evidence that something might have happened while they were away for a majority of the day. With the leaf rake in both hands, Oliver leaned forward to explain, Nathan noticing the slight tension of his posture made him believe that Oliver definitely knew something and it can't have been that good. As the boy explained, Nathan''s eyebrows furrowed for a moment when it came to a confusing description of this female's scent. That was weird. Nathan had never met someone before who didn't have a scent other than a human or werewolf, nothing outside of that as far as he'd noticed. Now hearing this made him think that he wished he went along with them now, curious himself of what this person was. He followed Oliver's gaze to Delphi then back to him once he began talking again. It was strange that Delphi wouldn't tell Oliver what this female was, Nathan realising at this moment that Roderick and Susanna are probably talking about this right now. So was this female dangerous? She had no scent, gave everyone weird vibes and caused Oliver to shift. The boy was still getting ahold of controlling his shifts but even then it's weird this strange female would cause that to happen.
Shaking his head, "I have no idea." Giving a look of sympathy with a small smile as he was just as clueless as Oliver seemed. He looked over his shoulder for a moment and then back at Oliver, figuring he might as well give him some sort of answer to explain that Nathan knew just about as much as what most did at the moment, "I saw Roderick and Susanna head into his office earlier so they're probably talking about it right now." He mentioned, hoping himself that they might know what is going on. Then again, if they did know then it must be worrying that they haven't told anyone just yet. "Maybe it's just a really weak scent...I don't know." The attempt of a guess was a little useless as Nathan recalled that Oliver said she didn't smell human either. "Or maybe she's masking it with something else? I don't really know if you can even do that but..." he shrugged. From the sounds of it, Nathan wasn't really a fan of this female since she seemed to ave stirred people up over something they could not understand.

Roderick realized after reading up on what he could that he would have to have a pack meeting soon. In case one of the pack members went out and met up with this demi-wolf child. He did fear for her life and worried for her, but nonetheless explained what he could to Susanna and let her mull it over for a few minutes. Her pacing made him itchy, but he let her think, 'I think its a plan' Susanna said to him, and was about to initiate the pack gathering when she had an aha moment pulling a letter from her pocket, 'I forgot, you have a letter in the mail from the nearby pack.'
Roderick took the letter with scrutiny and opened it up to reveal a calligraphed note reading,
~Dear Blanche Pack,
I have written this letter to inform you that the previous Alpha Lukus has been defeated in a challenge by the new Alpha Zeborah Rhodes. The packlands is now known as Pack Rhodes, and we ask that you attend a formal celebration of the new ranking of this Alpha. The celebration will be held on the next full moon.
We hope to see you there,
Alpha Rhodes~
Roderick didn't like this letter, but understood the formalities of it all. A celebration of a new alpha was always a tradition in the werewolf origin, but it was always extremely risque. Any Alpha in the same room as another could cause another challenge and makes the room tense. Nonetheless though, Roderick knew he had to attend, especially since an old enemy had been knocked off his ranks and he was wanting to create a better alliance between packs. He hoped as he reread the letter that this new Alpha Rhodes knew was he or she was getting into and that they would be a good alpha for that pack.
'What is it?' Susanna cut into his thoughts.
"Its a celebration of a new Alpha, and we have been invited to attend." Roderick mentioned, but stopped as he heard the footsteps of two familiar wolves enter the household, Riley and Aiden were back. The distraction couldn't come soon enough, setting the letter on his desk, he walked out the office and caught the familiar faces of his pack members. "Riley go get the others and bring them into the living room, we have a pack meeting".
The frail face of the doctor sheen with sweat nodded as she turned on heel and went after the others. "Aiden and Susanna lets head to the living room." It was time he told his pack about demi-wolves.
Riley was glad the run was finished, and was happy as she could be to smell the familiar scent of her other packmates. She rushed to put her clothes on and jogged back to the main house to see Oliver and Nathan talking closely in whispers while Delphi and Erin were working on the rest of the crops for next week. She felt a familiar chuckle of Aiden as he rushed past her to grab onto his brother and ruffle his hair, "Whatcha two talking about?" Aiden asked as he got annoyed glance from his brother. Riley shook her head and yelled at Aiden, "Aiden get you smelly butt inside and clean up!" she scolded. The boy scowled, but did as she said and rushed inside first. They ran into Susanna and Roderick as they were walking out of the office. Riley immediately looked to Roderick's shoulder and was told to rally up the troops. Her thoughts were jumbled as to why, but she could feel the heavy weight on Rodericks shoulders as he asked her. Nodding her head she turned on her feet and walked right back outside, "Come on kids lets get back inside! Pack meeting!" She yelled at them knowing full well that Delphi wouldn't like being called a kid and neither would Oliver. It helped get them inside so she didn't care what she called them.
Oliver's hopes were dashed when Nathan mentioned he didn't know what she was, and felt a little disappointment flood through him. He shifted his weight on his other foot and before he could get balanced his brother knocked right into him and started messing up his hair. "Stop!" he yelled, not in the mood and side jabbed his brother in the stomach. Thankfully Riley pitched in and asked him to get cleaned up, "Yeah get your stinky ass inside you smelly dog" he barked laughing as his brother ran the other way. Watching his brother enter the house he then side big and turned back to Nathan. "Thanks" for what he didn't know, but he thought he should at least say thank you for trying. Oliver was about to continue raking when Riley started yelling to get back inside for a pack meeting. Oliver's eyes lit up like a child at christmas, immediately he ran back to the barn and threw the rake back in the closet and rushed back out to Nathan. Clapping his shoulder with his hand he smiled big at him, "Maybe we will find out what she is!" and rushed forward to try and be the first one to find out. He entered the house and slid down the hall, nearly colliding with his brother, and collapsed down next to him on the floor. Oliver was eager to find out!

His attention was quickly driven from Oliver, who looked a bit disheartened at the fact Nathan didn't know either, Aiden ran over disturbing much of their quiet whispers about what was going on. Aiden was already annoying Oliver, but that's just what brothers do he guessed. Smiling at the comment amused once Aiden ran back to the house, he looked over to Oliver to nod in reply of the thank you. Oliver knew just as much as Nathan did on this situation, he wished he knew more but all he could really offer was his support in a situation like this. A louder voice coming from the house, that voice belonging to Riley, announced that there was a pack meeting. Finally. At least this may or may not clear up what was going on since Oliver seemed to shook up about it, still concerning him that the female managed to cause Oliver to shift. Before running off to join Oliver, he turned his head over his shoulder to see if Erin and and Delphi were coming as well.
Quickly entering the house, Nathan made his way down the hallway to where the pack meetings were normally held. Catching sight of Aiden and Oliver sat next to each other, Nathan choosing to stand near the side as everyone else gathered. Holding his hands nervously as he fiddled with them, he looked around at everyone else and began to wonder if anyone did actually know who this female was or what she was. Surely Roderick must know, he was an old alpha and while outsiders might view that as a negative Roderick at the end of the the day still probably knew more about the world than most people in this room or even outside of this pack.
As the truck rumbles to a halt outside the pack house, Delphi is quick to hop out and stride off before getting caught in the stampede of returning bodies. Roderick would surely be off to converse with Susie, one of his most trusted packmates, and so long as no one destroyed the damn furniture in a dominance fight she didn’t care what the younger wolves got up to. Inhaling deeply before releasing it slowly, she lets the familiar scent of home calm what remained of her frayed nerves, the familiar bounce in her step reasserting itself as she helps her fellow Delta store what remained of the veggies into the pack’s fridge. She personally wasn’t too big a fan of veggies - more of a meat gal, like most werewolves - but she was sure someone would enjoy them. Digging around in the freezer until she comes across the sausages, she fills the sink with water before tossing them in to defrost. Normally she’d shift and go hunting, but she was sure that Roderick would be wanting to discuss that abomi-demiwolf from earlier today. He wouldn’t be pleased if she were absent, so, grocery-bought meat it was. She’d scramble eggs or something later to make it a meal.
Once that was done, she slips quietly out the front door and hoists herself onto a low hanging tree branch. The old thing surely would have snapped under her if she were even a pound heavier, but being petite had its advantages - sometimes. Leaning her back against the trunk, she closes her eyes and plays dumb to the furtive glances the two conversing boys - Nathan and Oliver - send her way. She knew they were looking for an explanation, but Delphi was about the last person able to give an impartial opinion. Never one to hold back her wolf, if the beast didn’t like something, she didn’t like something - or someone. Period. Her instincts have gotten her out of tight spots before, and she wasn’t about to go doubting herself just because someone’s feelings could be hurt. She’d let Roderick and Susie do the explaining.
The dark skinned lupess had just about slipped into a comfortable doze when a sudden commotion rouses her. A call of pack meeting has her cracking an eye open and stretching languidly, thick sweater exposing a sliver of tummy as her arms reach for the sky. However, Riley’s little added “kids” has her metaphorical hackles raising. The doctor was over a decade younger than her, and the normally bubbly woman didn’t appreciate the nickname. As she passes the healer, her chin tilts up as she meets her gaze, smile sharp as she lets flecks of gold invade the usual green. “If I’m a kid, I guess that means I get to call you baby.” To any human it would have been the same as all her other flirtatious remarks, but any wolf would catch the slight threat in her tones. Nothing serious, of course, she wouldn’t want to actually engage Riley in a fight. Heaven knows the instant their healer is even slightly out of commission another pack would come knocking looking for a fight.
Snorting to herself, she pads silently into the meeting room, fuzzy socks masking her footsteps. Noticing Nathan’s fidgeting and altogether nervous behavior, she places a hand briefly on his shoulder. “You look like you’ve been caught with a hand in the cookie jar.” She chuckles, mouthing ‘relax’ in his direction before she plops down beside Erin. Now we’re just missing the stars of the show.

Roderick clutched the book in hand and let Susanna walk out first before himself. Of course it wasn't Alpha like to do so, but they had been good friends long enough that he thought of her as an equal, a partner in crime if you would. As he walked out, head held high, he looked at every single one of his pack mates waiting for their eyes to shift direction or ever so slightly to the side out of respect for their Alpha. Roderick knew it wasn't exactly necessary, but it helped assert dominance over all, and that helped settle the riled beast inside. He sat down in the large chair he usually preoccupied when it was a pack feast or gathering.
Taking a deep breath he opened the book and once again looked over his pack, "As some of you know and I'm sure the rest had heard that there is a girl in the human town that isn't quite... common." He did not want to refer to her as a monster because even that hurt his pride. "This girl is neither wolf nor human, but both..." he trailed... "She is a demi-wolf, having parents that are human and werewolf. It can be either or but one must posses the werewolf gene." He opened his book and skimmed his eyes over the words, not really reading but giving the others time to have that information sink into their heads before continuing, "A demi-wolf is more human than they are werewolf. Meaning, they have their wolf inside them, but more or less it is locked inside a metophorical cage. No one, in history has been able to figure out how to bring that wolf out. And believe me... they have tried." Roderick glanced over to Susanna who briefly looked at him before shifting her eyes back to the rest of the pack. "This girl, is of no harm to you and you must under no circumstances allow your instincts to follow. She may set you on edge, but she is harmless either way. She cannot shift, she may have some heightened senses, but otherwise she will age and die just like a human can. Demi-wolves cannot heal at our rate of healing either. So, as a pack I implore you to never invite her to our territory, but to also keep a close eye on her. I fear that if the other packs find her that she will be in great danger. I want to see if we can find out more, so I am putting Riley in charge of finding out about the demi-wolf child and ask that one of you goes with her to help out in case of danger." Roderick looked over towards Nathan knowing he was an omega, but would do just fine in human territory over his other dominant wolves.
"Last but not least, we have a new pack Alpha over in the old Lukus territory. It seems Alpha Lukus has been challenged within his own pack and have a new leader by the name of Zeborah Rhodes. Although this one seems young, she seems to want to amend our issues and bring our packs together for a celebration and a traditional welcoming. Delphi I'd like you and Oliver to work with the pack and find formal clothing to wear to this celebration. It is tonight on the new Rhodes territory. Remember do not start anything unnecessary, especially since it is not on our land. Is that understood?" Roderick asked the pack... once he got a response, he stood up, " Any questions before we all get ready for tonight?" Roderick wasn't his usual booming self, in fact, he was on edge. He was worried his young pack members would attack the demi-wolf, but at the same time he was more concerned about this Zeborah character than anything. His wolf didn't like the fact he had to meet another Alpha and be civil like a human, but as tradition and old pack ways enforce a traditional celebration and greeting of the new Alpha. He also worried that this one would be unstable and would attack the demi-wolf child. He had heard of what happened a few days ago from an informant, but did not believe it was true. A delta's daughter had attacked the pack in attempts of getting the position? That he couldn't believe and didn't want too, but it seemed that way... and it worried him that this young Zeborah may be out for all the pack Alpha's. Roderick, after all... was not a young pup anymore and neither was Susanna.
